They believe that medications are good for treatment, but they do not solve the total problem since the patient is more than chemicals.
Canada has a range of services and programs for those individuals who are 10 years old and older as well as the families wrestling with mental health issues. There are highly educated and experienced addiction professionals who use a holistic method that addresses the following:

Other programs added
The wide range of residential and outpatient programs address many problems including:

Holistic therapies are the “in” thing at many addiction rehabs especially the ones at the elite end of rehab spectrum. The facilities attempt to heal the entire person and to individualize care by offering alternative treatment such as:
- Equine-assisted therapy

- Somatic experiencing
Many experts say that there is no evidence that such holistic approaches do not work for addiction nor do they improve the odds of becoming and staying sober. But people or addicts under holistic care seem to be able to become sober sooner and stay that way longer.
The cost of treatments following up holistic type treatment can add up fast. At an outpatient program that is considered high end, the rates:
- Massage therapy/body work can run $150 to $165 per hour

In other words in Canada, a drug or alcohol rehab center only needs to offer one or two “holistic” programs to their other programs in order to call themselves a holistic rehab center. There is not really any evidence that total holistic rehab centers have any more or less cure rate than other rehab center.
