About
We are workers.
We are students.
We are empowered.
And we are making change!
Please click around and check out what we’re doing–especially our curriculum, Teach the Budget. It’s full of facts and analysis that offer a pretty stark view of the economic crisis and how it’s affected the 99%.
Last year, California ranked 9th among the states with the highest concentration of millionaires, with more than 700,000 residents holding $1 million or more in liquid assets–an 8% increase over 2009.
Meanwhile, California’s poverty rates have reached record levels and we now have the 2nd-highest foreclosure rates in the country. If the Gini coeficient is a reliable indicator, California has surpassed China, Russia, and India in economic inequality.
This is unjust, unconscionable, and unacceptable.
Join us by downloading and reading our curriculum. Then share it with a friend, a teacher, or a classroom. Get involved in the March 1st Day of Action for Public Education. It’s time for a change. Come be part of it.
